Hunter Ash is an autogynephilic detransitioner. Soon into transition, he noticed that many of his trans peers exhibited behavior more typical of their birth sex than their target gender, so he began to suspect something was amiss about the mainstream transgender narrative. He also found it draining to maintain an aesthetic that signaled femaleness to others. After a psychedelic experience led him to reprioritize truth as the highest transcendent value, the unescapable truth of being materially male quickened his journey back to living as a man.
